The first non-binary New Yorker to receive a gender neutral ID card. This is what that means to them:

“To be the first non-binary New Yorker to receive the gender X identifier on an NY ID card means a step towards access for other non-binary/gender nonconforming people to the right to express their truths. To have my gender recognized on a state level is so incredibly validating, and I was humbled by and privileged to get this opportunity. My biggest hope is that the privilege stretches beyond state lines; that non-binary people, specifically those of color, can feel seen standing in their identities not just nationally, but worldwide.” – Jackie Colquitt
